🧭 Core Fundamentals
The Standard Feline Calendar (SFC) is a comprehensive system blending horology, astronomy, and feline ethology.
⏳ Time Dilation
Feline life flows differently. SFC uses a fixed scaling constant:
- 1 Earth Year = 5 Feline Years
- 1 Earth Day = 1/73 Feline Year
🍂 Feline Seasons
Feline seasons are driven by light and temperature:
- Sprouting (Days 1-19): Warming weather. Shedding peaks (99%). High restlessness.
- Melting (Days 20-37): Peak heat. Cats lose solid form and become "liquid," seeking cool spots.
- Hoarding (Days 38-55): Cooling down. Appetite surge to store fat for winter.
- Sealing (Days 56-73): Cold weather. Cats are "sealed" in blankets or by heaters. Minimal shedding (10%).
🕒 Six Feline Hours
A 24-hour Earth day is divided into six segments based on crepuscular patterns:
| Hour | Earth Time | Behavior & Drive |
|---|---|---|
| Ambush | 00:00 - 04:00 | Light sleep & night patrol. |
| Dawn Hunt | 04:00 - 08:00 | Peak energy. Food requests & zoomies. |
| Window Patrol | 08:00 - 12:00 | Territory inspection & sunbathing. |
| Great Dream | 12:00 - 16:00 | Deep sleep. Do not disturb. |
| Twilight Hunt | 16:00 - 20:00 | Secondary active peak. Ideal for play. |
| Grooming | 20:00 - 00:00 | Socializing and cleaning. |
